The Housing Authority of Cook County (HACC) is opening the waitlist for affordable one-bedroom apartments designed for seniors aged 55 and older. This is a limited-time opportunity for income-qualified seniors and their families in southern Cook County.
Key Details of the HACC Waitlist Opening
• Start Date: Monday, July 6, 2026 at 10:30 a.m.
• Deadline: Friday, July 24, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
• Application Method: Online only at www.thehacc.org
Available Senior Communities
• Golden Towers I & II 1704-1706 East End Avenue, Chicago Heights, IL 60411
• Juniper Tower Apartments 350 Juniper Street Park, Forest, IL 60466
Who Qualifies?
• Head of household or spouse must be 55 years or older
• Household income must be at or below:
• Extremely Low Income: $25,200 (1 person) / $28,000 (2 persons)
• Very Low Income: $42,000 (1 person) / $48,000 (2 persons)
• Rent is approximately 30% of adjusted household income
Note: Income limits follow current HUD guidelines and are subject to change.
How to Apply
1. Visit www.thehacc.org starting July 6 at 10:30 a.m.
2. Complete the pre-application online before the July 24 deadline.
3. For assistance, call HACC at (312) 542-4786 (accessibility support available).
Business Hours: Monday–Friday 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (closed Wednesdays). Offices will be open on the opening day.
